Winter - Skiing in San Candido

The area around Tre Cime is a paradise for every kind of skier. Perfectly-groomed runs at every level of difficulty invite beginners and experts alike to skiing in San Candido and Sesto, where Alta Pusteria’s Monte Elmo, Monte Baranci and Croda Rossa ski circuits await you. Gently sunny slopes adored by families alternate with steep, swift descents. Alta Pusteria offers a total of 28 ski lifts and 55 km of runs. Breathtaking panoramas do the rest. For those in search of even more, it’s easy to organize trips to ski in nearby Plan de Corones or even Cortina.

Hiking in San Candido is just as fine in the winter. There are both pleasant strolls along leisurely trails and marvelous routes you can only take on snowshoes. Skiing in San Candido means traversing a snowy winter wilderness in the purest air. A network of over 200 km of track offers cross-country skiers a variety of thrills.

In and around San Candido, there are also lots of sled runs. People here are particularly fond of sledding on full moon nights. Far from the madding crowd, you might also indulge in a bit of ski touring over the virgin snow in the enchanting alpine landscape in Alta Pusteria.
