Horse-drawn sleigh rides in South Tyrol
Explore the Sextner Dolomite Alps with horses
Enjoy diversity during your holiday and explore the South Tyrolean Dolomite Alps’ snow-covered landscapes with a horse-drawn sleigh. Alone, with your family or all romantic with your partner – wrapped in a fluffy and warm blanket you discover the Hochpustertal natural environment by day or night.
Sleigh ride to Lake Toblach
The impressive tour starts at the cross-country skiing station in Toblach, goes past the “Säghäusern” church and through the stunning Hochpustertal nature around the Drei Zinnen to Lake Toblach.
The lake is located at the border between the nature parks Drei Zinnen and Fanes-Sennes-Prags. Once arrived at the lake you can walk along the circular route even in winter and read about the reserve’s interesting flora and fauna on information boards.
Our tip: Take ice skates with you! If the water is sufficiently frozen, the surface of Lake Toblach invites you to enjoy ice skating in the middle of the enchanting natural environment – an unforgettable experience in South Tyrol.
Sleigh rides in Fischleintal
Take a seat in the sleigh at the Rotwand lower terminus. From there you take a ride through snow-covered Fischleintal, through the Sextner Sonnenuhr (“sundial”) Summits, to the Talschlusshütte hut in the Drei Zinnen Nature Park. Along the way take in the breathtaking landscape and nature’s beauty!
The sleigh ride takes about 1.5-2 hours, is offered daily and requires an advanced booking.
Italy’s only reindeer herd are the famous, local stars of the vast preserve at the Croda Rossa. Feeling homey in the wild nature of the Three Peaks/3 Zinnen in the Dolomites, the shaggy animals provide amusing and fascinating encounters, even on the ski slopes sometimes.
