My Dolomites in June
Probably the most famous dessert in the Austrian cuisine and also very popular in South Tyrol. With or without raisins – you can argue about that, but the typical, fluffy Kaiserschmarrn will melt in your mouth either way.
The preparation of the pancake dough has a long history and goes back to Franz Joseph I of Austria.
The basis for every Kaiserschmarrn is flour, milk, eggs, sugar and salt. What you add to that is a question of your individual taste.
Popular alternative recipes mix fruits into the dough: cherries or apples taste especially delicious in this sweet temptation. Nussschmarrn with nuts, or Schmarrn with curd or sour cream make for a great alternative recipe for your favourite dish.
