Spicy delicacies: garden cress
With its distinctive and spicy taste cress enhances spices up many dishes. In spreads or as a topping and decoration for warm and cold soups – cress turns the Marende afternoon snack as well as the gourmet meal into something special. This healthy herb tastes even better when it comes directly from the Hochpustertal garden.
It only needs a small amount of cress to spice up a meal. Chef Hermann Patzleiner and his cuisine team at the Leitlhof Hotel create wonderful spring meals with cress for you.
If you like the spicy taste of mustard or horseradish then you will enjoy cress in your holiday meals. Fresh from the garden, the garden cress spreads its strong meadow smell and gives the alpine and South Tyrolean specialties at the Leitlhof restaurant the right taste.
Cress also has various health-enhancing effects. It strengthens your immune system and has an antioxidant effect. It also prevents several illnesses and has a diuretic and cleansing effect.
The spicy herb provides precious vitamins and minerals, e.g. vitamin C, B and E as well as the minerals potassium and calcium.
Simple and good
Very often the most delicious things are also the simplest: Try our homemade fresh bread at the breakfast buffet with butter from regional farmers and fresh cress from the garden and taste the difference that our high-quality, regional products produce on your palate.
Grow cress yourself
You can grow your own cress at home simply and with hardly any effort. All you need is a piece of damp cotton wool in a sprout bowl, on which the cress seeds can grow.
