The feast of lovers

In many countries, especially in the English-speaking world, 14th February, Saint Valentine’s Day, is considered the “day for lovers”. The custom dates back to the times of the Christian martyrs named Valentine.

The feast day was introduced in 469 by Pope Gelasius I for the entire Christian community, but in 1969 it was deleted from the Roman calendar.

Nevertheless there is still a widespread custom of celebrating Mass on Saint Valentine’s Day to bless couples.

Saint Valentine’s is a special day at the Leitlhof too: couples are offered special vouchers and original “Treatments for two” in our wellness oasis.  We will be pleased to inform you about all the other wellness offers in our beauty department.
