One very convivial occasion is the annual harvest festival that is traditionally held on the second Sunday in October in several areas of the Pustertal. On this Sunday, the local people take the opportunity to thank God for all His gifts - especially for a good and abundant harvest. The harvest thanksgiving procession takes place after the church service.
The representatives of the different trades carry symbols of their craft in the procession. In certain villages of the Pustertal such as Toblach, setting up the “Kirchtamichl” is still part of the harvest thanksgiving traditions.
